Assignment 9A -Testing the Hypothesis, Part 2

    • Who: Through my interviews, I discovered there are individuals who would fall outside of my market. However, most all were inside the boundary of my market. I also discovered some that would fall within that I had not considered before. For instance, residents living in rural areas. For the ones that fall outside of my market, it was generally college students who live in apartment complexes and can’t justify the, although low, monthly cost. Also, I discovered that there are individuals who are less concerned with the negative effects not recycling could have on the environment. The last two groups of individuals that fall outside the boundary are those that already have recycling services available to them by the city and businesses that are not self-owned.
    • What: More than one of those interviewed again were more opt to be accepting of the low monthly fee, when knowing that they were contributing to charity.
    • Why: I believe that the need is not different, and in fact, still exists. It simply boils down to, for those that don’t already have access, whether or not to invest in recycling for the common good.

  1. Hey Kellye!
I can see the issue you are running into here. The cost is definitely going to be prohibitive for most, and you have a good idea for the charity point but I think you need to find a way to make money off of more than just the fees. Further, you need to find a way to convince them that this is as great of an idea as it really is! They may not see it at first, but there must be a way you can shine the light on it that they will be able to see.
